With much regret, I have to say, that after 15 years of owning Grove Garden Center, I am leaving the business.
I have been an integral part of the Grove Garden family since 1987 when I first started working for Tom Gladwin and with the Gladwin family. I have many fond memories of all the years spent there and have had the privilege of working with many fine people that made up the Grove family over the years. Having been in business since 1951, the joke was that if you were from the area, you either worked at the garden center, were related to someone who did, or knew someone who worked there.
Over the years I have had the privilege to meet many people in the industry and worked with many fine customers. Many of the people have become good friends, some still with us and some who have passed. I enjoyed the friendships I have made with many in the Clinton Historical Society known as the Old Brick, and many in the garden club, as well as some of the local churches and the people who belong to them.
I have enjoyed working with the Robert DiBona scholarship since its inception, and with Cindy Stevens to do several fundraisers for local charities.
Thanks again to all the people that have supported me and stood by me over the years.
Best to all,
Rob Jacobson
